Best Games for the Wii - Awards

These are the all-time Wii game awards, which serve to recognize games that own.

Metroid Prime 3

This game is the evolution of the series, and possibly the best game for the Wii. It's got a better control system, better graphics, and cutscenes that are just...wow. This is currently the most awesome Metroid yet.

Award - Best Graphics (until The Conduit comes out)
Award - Most Brain-Crushing Puzzles
Award - Most/Best Unlockables
Award - Best Bosses
Nomination - Best Adventure

Super Mario Galaxy

This is the greatest platformer ever made. Period. I'm just going to put that out there. It also has the distinction of being the second greatest Mario game ever (only Paper Mario is ahead of it). Bonus: Limited two-player Stargun power.

Award - Best Platformer
Award - Most Fun

Twilight Princess

This game is da swordfighting bomb, with a melting pot of great graphics, storyline, and cinematics thrown in. Hacking Deku Babas apart has never been more fun. No multiplayer though, but this is Zelda, so I wasn't expecting it.

Award - Best Adventure
Nomination - Best Graphics

Continued next time!

New Music: The good, the bad, and let's not go there

Okay, as we did old movies the last time, today we are going to check out some new ones. Ones that don't have a picture. Or dialogue.

The good:

When The World Comes Down - The All-American Rejects
Although they may have gone a bit out of their metaphorical stride, this album is ALMOST as wonderful as Move Along, and I would say that it just needs a bit less deviant upbeatness.
(Yes, I did just invent that word. I'm adding it to my dictionary now.)

Day And Age - The Killers
While this is, again, not a stride forward for The Killers, it is still a showcase of insane musical skills. Bonus: It includes Human!

The bad:

Chinese Democracy - Guns N' Roses
Let's see if we can't point out the bad things here. First, THIS IS NOT GUNS N' ROSES! THIS IS A FRICKING AXL ROSE SHOWOFF SHOWCASE!!! Okay, now that I'm finished with that, let's talk about the actual album. It sucks. Don't waste your money on this pathetic piece of @$#&.

808s & Heartbreak - Kayne West
Kayne West is back for another great bounty of rap. Maybe. Not really. Actually, he's just imitating T-pain. Except it's worse. This is the music you would want to take to the Grand Canyon. To throw it over a guardrail. Because this music sucks. Just...no.

The (real) First Post: Old Movies

The last post was more of an introduction, so let's get started with the real first post.
Today, we have some movies which are golden oldies, and oldies that are not so golden. It's the flashback to the 80s!

Airplane! (1980) ||||||||| (9/10)

What can I say? This is the funniest movie since before the invention of the projector. It combines the elements of a great cast, satire, and REALLY bad puns. If you have a thing for comedy, pick this up and roll in the aisles for a while (of course, this depends on whether your home theater has aisles)

The Terminator (1984) |||||||| (8/10)

The parallel future/past storyline of this movie makes it novel in itself, and when combined with an on-edge progression (and EXPLOSIONS), this movie seems like the action gem of the 80s. In fact, it probably is, with another great cast and a practically invincible antagonist. (And EXPLOSIONS). The only problem is the repetitive attacks, which can get boring fast.

Clash of the Titans (1981) || (2/10)

Another epic cast can't save this movie, which was torture in a DVD. Nothing can counteract the "special effects", which just plain SUCK. Harry Hamlin definitely was smoking something before the filming, and he was probably sharing it with the director, because he didn't cut almost all of the scenes and reduce the movie to about 52.6 seconds. If you like having your wrists slashed, then this movie will give you the same feeling with some salt.

The First Post

Okay, even though nobody will read this, I'm obliged to have an intro, so:
This blog is basically another blog that reviews a few types of media, such as movies and video games. I might also occasionally rant about nothing in particular, although I do most of that on Twitter.
Anyway, I am sincerely thankful to anyone who reads this, which will probably, again, consist of nobody. Thank you for your nonexistent time.
